If you’re wondering what’s kept me from posting recently, it’s life, of course. But more specifically, I’ve decided to create a short book on Bitcoin, and I’m trying to finish it before the end of the year. It’s going to be called What’s the Big Deal About Bitcoin?
And, believe it or not, it’s going to answer the question, “What’s the big deal about Bitcoin?”
I decided to write it after being asked by several people about Bitcoin, and I was unable to find a really satisfactory introduction to Bitcoin that wasn’t technical. So, I’ve decided to write it myself.
For anyone who is interested, it’s going to look at Bitcoin from a conceptual level, rather than a technical one. My primary goal is clarity, and my audience is the layman – those people who are complete new to the technology. The basic layout:
I. What is Bitcoin? (simple explanation of what it is)
II. What’s the Big Deal? (explanation and examples of its potential)
III. Common Objections (clarifying and resolving the most common objections)
IV. Real Challenges (what I see as legitimate criticisms and questions about Bitcoin)
It takes time to create such a book. Fortunately, my wife has a full-time job to support the majority of our expenses. Unfortunately, we still expect our savings to be diminished. So, I am trying to raise around 2BTC (~$800) to break even over the next two months finishing this book.

Any support would be appreciated. If you’d like to be notified when the book comes out, shoot me an email, and I’ll let you know personally. In the meantime, I won’t be as frequently posting on this blog (though, I do have a good piece about Postmodernism I’m itching to post).
If you’ve any information about self-publishing, or any tips in general about writing a book, do send them along, too. This is my first book, so I have a lot to discover.
